How long does it take to build a lifestyle? You probably know the drill. You start every new year with resolutions, new habits, and a fresh start. You learn a new language, pick up yoga, go to the gym every day, stop drinking soda, stop eating fast food, start journaling every day, take cold showers, and the list goes on. You start strong only to get sucked into your old patterns and routines.
It seems like everyone is talking about how to live a more healthy life, make changes, and set goals for yourself.
Maybe that’s because people just realize there is no quick fix. No magic pill or shortcut to lifestyle change. It’s hard work, but it’s worth it in the end.
In this world, everything is instant gratification, and improving our lives in 50 days or less, we decided to do something different.
While in university, I used to look at my mates and wonder how they could bring the same lunch to school every day. In addition, repeating the same thing day in and day out is such a bore, right?
On the flip side, when you look deeply, you will see that most of them are just doing what they know — what’s comfortable. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
A lifestyle takes time – it takes action, and it takes patience. Developing a morning routine that makes you feel on top of the world takes time.
It takes time to learn how to be better with your money. It takes time to go from unhealthy to healthy.
With that said, how many days will it take you to build a lifestyle? It’s not a trick question. There isn’t an easy answer, either. If you have already decided you want to do something, you can do it.
But if you don’t put in the time, you won’t get the results you want.
Why building a decent lifestyle is important?
Having a great life and living it to the fullest is only possible when you have a good life. A common misconception of what a ‘decent’ lifestyle is, is the idea of acquiring loads of things you don’t need.
The idea that having the newest gadgets, cars, latest fashion, or traveling to far-off lands are compulsory parts of being in the ‘decent’ bracket is a wrong assumption. Perhaps this might work for some, but that’s not their idea of a decent lifestyle for others.
Life is about living your day-to-day, hour by hour, making each day count, and striving to better yourself. It can be gained through hard work and diligence, but most importantly, believing in yourself.
As a people, we feel that having a decent lifestyle is important. Just as every person has their own needs, norms, and desires for life, their criteria for building a decent lifestyle may vary.
However, it is certain that people who have built a decent lifestyle have a lot of satisfying moments, feel very comfortable in their skin, and are generally happy.
The importance of building a decent life cannot be overemphasized because it’s the same thing as pursuing happiness. A decent lifestyle does not have to pinch pennies or deny yourself anything.
Instead, it’s about living well in a balanced way. It’s about doing your best to have a good time, saving money, and still saving enough to reach your long-term goals.
A decent life is built through small steps, and the first step is learning to save some cash.
